Fred and Wayne are taking Amtrak from San Diego to points north (Goleta or San Luis Obispo) Monday May 4. We plan to ride back to San Diego camping our along the way. We do this about every year, sometimes from San Francisco. Our wives kick us out for a few days each year, possibly for their own respective sanities.
Today Fred and I (Wayne) each got our bikes back from Bernie's Bike Shop in Ocean Beach. A WONDERFUL bike shop and reasonably priced. Lubed, tuned and spokes tightened, we did a shakedown 15 miles. It took a while to get used to the quietness of the bike without the chain rubbing on the deraileur. Bart (the dog) went along for the ride. But he cant go with us next week. :(
